The rapid increase in the numbers of illegitimate children is directly
related to the unlimited rein given to desire and the removal of barriers
between young men and women. Statistics on the ratio of pregnant school
girls in the United States revealed dreadful dimension. In a newspaper
report, one third of the infants born in 1983 were illegitimate. Most of
them were born to young women under nineteen. The total number of illegitimate
children was 112,353 with a percentage of 37% of the births for that year.
