This Hadith is related
separately by Assayuti, AI-Maknissi, AI-Baihaqi. and Ibn AI-Hajib Others
have made reference to it. It has been rejected, however, by Imam Ibn Hazm
in his book AI-Ahkam Fi Usul AI-Ahkam, Vol-5, where the author states
“Differences are dispraised in the Koran “Do not be in dispute with one
another and become weak and lose your power”. He adds that if differences
were mercy, acquiescence would be resentment, a fact that Moslem does not
state.
The truth of the matter
is that the so-called difference is one in the parts and in the details.
This has been established by the blessed Prophet and cited by his Companions.
